Our museum offers a journey through time, where history comes alive amidst fascinating artifacts and interactive exhibits.
Our Tour Guides are expert storytellers and they’re excited to share the wonders of the Kilkenny medieval era with your students and fostering a fascination with our rich and often colourful 800 year history.
During their visit, students will learn about the people of Kilkenny’s past, discovering what we learn about how they lived from the artifacts they left behind.
Educational & Activities Pack
Here you will find resources for before and after your visit to the Medieval Mile Museum. Worksheets are suitable for junior infants to sixth class and encompass arts education, history, maths, geography and creative writing. These worksheets are curriculum-compliant and will enrich your visit to the museum, prepare students for the visit, or recap what they have learned during their time with us.

Guided School Tour
Our expert guide will lead students on an hour-long tour of the museum. During their visit, students will learn about the people of Kilkenny’s past, discovering the many layers of history that make up Kilkenny’s past.

History Explorer Museum Visit
Our expert guide will lead a special tour for your class around the museum, with a focus on the ‘Working as an Historian’ and ‘Life, society, work and culture in the past’ curriculum strands.
During their visit, students will learn about the people of Kilkenny’s past, discovering the many layers of history that can be explored in the museum.
They will have activity sheets to complete during their visit, as well as suggested post-visit classroom activities.
