At the Medieval Mile Museum, we tell the stories of Kilkenny’s powerful patrons and inspired creators through the monuments and artefacts they left behind.
Beginning as a conservation project, the design team led by McCullough Mulvin Architects commenced work on what was St Mary’s Parish Church in 2012. Opened to the public in December 2017, the award-winning Medieval Mile Museum is an amalgamation of cutting-edge architecture, building conservation, archaeology, history and exhibition design and a ‘hero site’ of Ireland’s Ancient East.
